چکیده

Call centers are complex contact centers to handle large volume of inbound, outbound or both types of calls depending on the business purpose. Call centers assume the role of the primary contact medium for many companies from a wide range of industries with their customers or clients. Despite of being seen traditionally as adding cost to the companies’ bottom lines, call centers are now viewed by many companies to turn a service request into an opportunity to sell additional products and services. This sales attempt is called crossselling. The opportunity to generate profit from an existing customer-base is a key factor for a successful call center. This paper introduces a framework for balancing cross-selling and service activities in a call center setup from a queuing science point of view. The main goal of this study is to introduce a framework to maximize a call center’s performance without degrading the service quality. Our framework is based on the usage of real-time queue characteristics, customer profile information and server-skill set information from a cross-sell point of view.

Reliable location-allocation model for congested systems under disruptions using accelerated Benders decomposition

This paper aims to propose a reliable location-allocation model where facilities are subject to the risk of disruptions. Since service facilities are expected to satisfy random and heavy demands, we model the congested situations in the system within a queuing framework which handles two sources of uncertainty associated with demand and service. To insure the service quality, a minimum limit re...

A New Model for Location-Allocation Problem within Queuing Framework

This paper proposes a bi-objective model for the facility location problem under a congestion system. The idea of the model is motivated by applications of locating servers in bank automated teller machines (ATMS), communication networks, and so on. This model can be specifically considered for situations in which fixed service facilities are congested by stochastic demand within queueing frame...

A Continuous Review inventory Control Model within Batch Arrival Queuing Framework: A Parameter-Tuned Imperialist Competitive Algorithm

In this paper, a multi-product continues review inventory control problem within batch arrival queuing approach (MQr/M/1) is modeled to find the optimal quantities of maximum inventory. The objective function is to minimize summation of ordering, holding and shortage costs under warehouse space, service level, and expected lost-sales shortage cost constraints from retailer and warehouse viewpoi...

Developing a New Bi-Objective Functions Model for a Hierarchical Location-Allocation Problem Using the Queuing Theory and Mathematical Programming

In this research, a hierarchical location-allocation problem is modeled in a queue framework. The queue model is considered as M/M/1/k, in which system capacity is finite, equals to k. This is the main contribution of the current research. Customer's enters to the system in order to find the service according to a Poisson. In this problem, the hierarchical location-allocation model is considere...

Cost Analysis of Fuzzy Queuing Systems

Regarding the fact that getting a suitable combination of the human resources and service stations is one of the important issues in the most service and manufacturing environments, In this paper, we have studied the two models of planning queuing systems and its effect on the cost of the each system by using two fuzzy queuing models of M/M/1 and M/E2/1. In the first section, we have compar...
